报告题目:Quantum Physics of Extremely Cold Atoms

摘要:Newtonian mechanics is a good approximation for the translational motion of molecules in the air that we breathe. We can think of them as balls bouncing around. If one lowers the temperature of an atomic vapor by many orders of magnitude, the thermal de Broglie wave length of atoms becomes so large that one is forced to use quantum mechanics for the motion of atoms. An N-body wave function has to be used for N atoms. I will explain how to describe the effective interaction of two or three atoms by solving the Schrodinger equation. I will also explain how the effective interaction strength can be tuned, and what happens when the interaction becomes extremely strong.

报告题目:强子对撞实验上的精确电弱测量

摘要:精确电弱测量一直是实验物理最重要的领域之一。标准模型与电弱相关的基本参数中,目前最重要的两个是温伯格角和W玻色子质量。上世纪九十年代的LEPSLC实验提供了Mz能标下最精确温伯格角测量,为后续Higgs玻色子发现提供了重要指导。之后,精确电弱测量的主要平台是高能强子对撞机。随着Higgs玻色子的发现,标准模型所有自由度都得到了实验确定,精确电弱测量和相关global fitting可以对标准模型进行整体检验,并对超越标准模型新物理展开间接寻找。

报告题目:What happens if gravity is quantized?

摘要:The detection of gravitational waves by LIGO and Virgo in the culmination of a decades-long quest confirms directly a prediction of Einstein based on his classical theory of general relativity. Naturally, one may wonder what effects are if gravitational waves are quantized and whether they can be detectable. When gravity is quantized, there inevitably exist quantum gravitational vacuum fluctuations which induce quadrupole moments in gravitationally polarizable objects and produce, in close analogy to the Casimir-Polder forces, quantum corrections to the classical Newtonian interactions such as those between polarizable objects, and a polarizable object and a boundary. In this talk, we review our recent calculations of these forces.

报告题目:Future Prospects of Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay 

摘要:From the global fit of neutrino oscillation experiments and cosmological measurements, the neutrino mass hierarchy/ordering prefers the normal case which seems quite depressing for neutrinoless double beta (0v2b) decay experiments. I would like to point out that this is actually not bad at all. The normal hierarchy/ordering opens the possibility of measuring the two Majorana CP phases simultaneously which is impossible for the inverted one. If 0v2b decay is observed, only one combination of the two Majorana CP phases can be determined and the information of one physical degree will be missing. But if 0v2b is not observed, both of them can be determined and there is all physical observables are known. Under this specific situation, zero is larger than one. 报告题目:Sterile neutrinos and displaced vertices at the LHC

摘要:Many beyond the Standard Model theories introduce sterile neutrinos in order to provide solutions to several open problems in particle physics and cosmology. Among the different ways of probing their existence, searches for collider signatures with displaced vertices are particularly appealing due to their low SM backgrounds. Interestingly, sterile neutrinos of few GeV with mixings that are allowed by present constraints can lead to displaced vertices. We revisit the potential of the LHC for this kind of signatures, paying special attention to the role of flavor and different kinematic configurations.

题目:Standard Model Effective Field Theory from On-shell Amplitudes

摘要:We present a general method of constructing unfactorizable on-shell amplitudes (amplitude basis), and build up their one-to-one correspondence to the independent and complete operator basis in effective field theory (EFT). We apply our method to the Standard Model EFT, and identify the amplitude basis in dimension 5 and 6, which correspond to the Weinberg operator and operators in Warsaw basis except for some linear combinations.

摘    要:有效场论(EFT)与算符乘积展开(OPE)是量子场论中的两个重要理论工具。本报告的宗旨是展示这两个在粒子物理中提炼出的现代理论方法,对于理解原子波函数的普适短程行为,能够提供新颖及深刻的视角。在报告前半部分,我从非相对论性的Coulomb-Schrodinger EFT出发,证明了一个严格的OPE关系,并将电子趋近原子核时原子波函数呈现的普适行为诠释为Wilson系数。在报告后半部分,我尝试解决相对论性量子力学中一个长达90年的疑难:如何理解S波类氢原子的Klein-Gordon和Dirac波函数在原点附近的弱发散行为。有些违背直觉的是,这个疑惑不能在相对论性QED框架下通过OPE解决,但可以通过在非相对论性EFT中加入相对论修正,利用OPE和重整化群方程(RGE)完美解决。

报告题目:Origin of Neutrino Masses and Flavor Mixing

摘要:We perform a systematic study of the Dirac neutrino masses which arise from dimension five and dimension six effective operators. We identify all possible realizations of these operators at tree level and one-loop level. The corresponding predictions for the particle content and neutrino mass matrix are presented. The electrically neutral particle mediating the loop diagram could be dark matter candidate. We give the possible dark matter particles and the restrictions on the parameter α for each model. We also studied the flavor mixing of leptons, including the generalized CP symmetry, we have performed a comprehensive scan of leptonic mixing patterns which can be obtained from finite discrete groups with order less than 2000. The resulting lepton mixing matrices admit a good agreement with experimental data.
